Free State Orchestra in Washington, D.C.

dc

Lynn Basow, Orchestra Director at Lawrence Free State High School in Lawrence, Kansas traveled this year with Music Celebrations International at the National Festival of the States in Washington, D.C. The following is Lynn’s description of her experience:

“The Free State Orchestra did have a wonderful trip to Washington, D.C. We appreciate the assistance Music Celebrations International gave our group to make it a flawless experience. We were fortunate to travel in a gorgeous new coach… Our drivers and step-on guide were polite, enjoyable and very experienced. The meals arranged for our group were excellent. … Our clinic with Col. Gabriel was a delight. …The pacing of the trip was perfect. The tours were especially enjoyable. We felt fortunate to attend the Wreath Laying at Arlington, and to tour the Capitol and the White House. The time we spent at Georgetown and the performance of the National Symphony were extra treats that the entire group really enjoyed. I know the students had a wonderful time because they were so busy telling stories to classmates and teachers upon our return. It was a pleasure to work with you all. … I look forward to working with Music Celebrations International when it is time to take our next trip.”
