MacArthur High School Orchestra in Austria

Vienna Blind

The following is an excerpt taken from a letter written by Dr. Jan Garverick, Director of the MacArthur High School Orchestra in San Antonio, Texas. Jan and the MacArthur Orchestra traveled to Austria with Music Celebrations International in 2004.

Having completed our second performance tour in Austria with MCI, the MacArthur High School Chamber Orchestra and parents say thank you to Music Celebrations for professionalism in all areas of designing and carrying out this trip [and] thoroughness and attention to endless details…. Three Supreme Highlights determined by our group [were] our experience at the Vienna Blind Institute and sharing with the children (pictured), the dinner evening with Jutta – we have no words to describe this awesome event, and our afternoon experience with the violin makers in Mittenwald. This was a dream-come-true for each of us. Seeing is believing!…

I keep coming back to this word communication. I can say that professional communication is the important key at MCI. No logistical surprises in either 1998 or 2004 tours…. Thank you for designing this cultural, music education experience for us. We have memories for a life-time and a new appreciation of our world.”
