Fundraising: Creativity

The September 2005 issue of SYTA’s Student and Youth Traveler has an excellent article entitled Fundraising Creativity by Matt Poe, about how fundraisers beyond the traditional methods are becoming more traditional. Here are some of the ideas mentioned in the article:
*Cleaning parks for a lower fee than what a professional company would charge.
*Choose-A-Thons where groups gather donation pledges for certain activities performed, like walk-a-thons and march-a-thons.
*Community Assistance: Ibe student in Pennsylvania contacted local service organizations, such as the Rotary Club and Kiwanis Club, and asked for financial support. One group agreed to fund her entire trip - if she came back and gave a full report.
The entire article is excellent and we recommend you get your hands on it. To do so, please contact SYTA or order your free subscription here.
