Fundraising: Online Auctions
The Auckland Philharmonia is in the middle of a fundraising effort called the “Symphonic Auction in Four Movements”, a four 10-day auctions on TradeMe, New Zealand’s most popular website. They have offered up a number of items for bid, including Lunch with the Mayor (community support), the opportunity to Conduct the Orchestra, the opportunity to become a Roadie for a Day, or private music lessons (easily done in house), an empty Magnum of Moët, drunk and signed by Nigel Kennedy (a celebrity item donated - does anyone in your group know a celebrity (or perhaps is a celebrity)?, and other donated items like sunglasses, makeovers, music and dinner (all items probably donated for promotional reasons by local businesses).
