Fundraising: Take A Seat

The following is an article written by Rachel Silverman of the Princeton Packet.

A recently announced fundraising campaign — orchestrated by the Princeton Education Foundation — is working to make Princeton High School’s new auditorium a state-of-the-art facility.

Through “Take A Seat,” residents can purchase plaques for any of the auditorium’s 800 seats. “Take a Seat” also will help install enhancements like an orchestra pit cover, choral music shell and acoustic drapes.

The Princeton High School Performing Arts Center, which includes the auditorium, is part of the district’s six-school, $81.3 million expansion and renovation project.

The arts center, which will serve performing-arts needs across the district, will include two instrumental rooms, three ensemble practice rooms, a drama room for experimental productions, a music library, construction lab for set design, prop storage room, backstage dressing area, costume space and lighting area. Community organizations also will be able to use the auditorium, enabling students to hear master classes and professional rehearsals.

The auditorium will be named the Tregoe-Biancosino Hall in honor of longtime PHS choir director William Tregoe and former PHS studio band director Anthony Biancosino.

Giving categories for a seat in the auditorium range from $250 to $1,000.

  1. I am interested in this particular fundraiser. What were the amounts of the giving categories and what was the name of the company that supplied the plaques.
