![]()
The following is from Sweet Adelines offer singing valentines in the Zanesville Times Recorder.
The Friendship VII Sweet Adelines will offer a musical valentine to friends, family, co-workers and loved ones this Valentine’s Day….
The valentines will be delivered on Tuesday, which is Valentine’s Day. A singing valentine and a carnation will be delivered to each person, for a $10 donation.
They will be delivered to homes, nursing homes, hospitals, schools and places of business in Zanesville and surrounding areas.
The Sweet Adelines has visited some people annually, “so they just expect us,” said Wanda Callahan, a member of the Sweet Adelines.
There will be four quartets -Crystal Chords, Marc IV, B’Dazzle and Happy Hearts - delivering the musical messages and flowers. Callahan said they can sometimes reach 200 people with the four quartets.
The carnations are donated by South Village Florist, Sunshine Shop, Florofino’s, Flowers and Gifts by Jim, Ford’s Flowers, Hilltop Florist and Imlay Florist.

Singing Valentines is a National Fundraiser sponsored by the Barbershop Harmony Society that was started over 12 years ago. It is their biggest fundraiser of the year. Hundreds of barbershop choruses send out thousands of Barbershop quartets all across the United States and Canada. www.singingvalentines.com
