Gold Parties

Gold

This is an interesting fundraising idea we just came across. This is being organized by the Hurricane High School Band in West Virginia.

By now you may have heard about the home “Gold Parties” happening in the surrounding area. People bring their unwanted gold - broken bracelets, necklaces, orphaned earrings, rings, charms and dental work - to the party host’s house and a representative from The Gold Refinery (www.goldrefinery.com) is on site to examine and weigh the gold on the spot and then pays folks cash for the gold. None of the party guests is asked to buy anything or sell anything - they are simply given cold, hard cash. Certainly not the usual home party!

The Hurricane High School Band Boosters will be hosting a gold party with a different twist. They are inviting everyone in the community bring unwanted gold to the Hurricane High School band room on Tuesday March 10 beginning at 5:30 pm. The Gold will be examined and weighed and traded for cash. The band will receive a percentage of money based on the amount paid out at the end of the evening. Everyone wins with this fund raiser! The band is encouraging everyone to come and bring friends, family and neighbors.
